Item THE ROLE OF PERCEIVED ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT AND LEADER-MEMBER EXCHANGE ON JOB SATISFACTION(2021-11-14) MANAWI, Tamim; ÇİĞDEMOĞLU, CeyhanThis study, investigates the relationship between perceived organizational support, leader-member exchange (LMX) and job satisfaction (JS) in the field of health in Afghanistan. The number of articles on the topics of perceived organizational support (POS), leader-member exchange (LMX) and jobs satisfaction increase day by day, but no research has been found specifically on the role of perceived organizational support (POS) and leader-member exchange (LMX) on job satisfaction (JS). As a cross-sectional survey study, the data of this study is collected from 242 health professionals in Afghanistan. A convenient sampling strategy is used in determining the sample of the study. For analysis of data, Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 22.0 by International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) was used for statistical analysis. First, descriptive statistics (frequency, mean, percentage, average and standard deviation) are provided and then inferential statistics are given. We employed statistical analysis for checking differences in the socio-demographic characteristics of the participants such as age, gender, years of job experience and the level of the academic degree of the participants. Results show that there is a positive correlation between perceived organizational support (POS) and leader-member exchange (LMX) (r = .548, p < .05). Perceived organizational support (POS) and job satisfaction (JS) had one dimension while leader-member exchange (LMX) had four dimensions. The sub- dimensions of leader-member exchange (LMX) are emotion, contribution, loyalty, and professional respect. Concerning the relationship between perceived organizational support (POS) and the emotion sub-dimension of leader member exchange, this study found a positive correlation (r = 0.425, p < .05). Considering the contribution sub-dimension of the leader-member exchange (LMX), this study found a positive correlation (r = .351, p < .05).
