Abstract
kaçılmazdır. İç mekânda etkin rol almaya başlayan biyofili kavramı bu çalışmada;
Browning’in tasarım parametreleri, Kellert ve Çorakçı’nın biyofilik tasarım özellikleri
Description
Relationship of Plant Usage Patterns in Interior Spaces with
Visual Design Parameters
ABSTRACT: Today's living conditions, technology, metropolitan cities, business life have caused people to move away from nature due to not being able to spare enough time for natural life. With the negative effects of this divergence over time, people need to re-establish the bond that broke with nature. In this thesis, firsly, the concept of "biophilia", which is the reason for the need to connect with nature, was explained. Biophilia has positive effects on people in order to be healthier individuals by reducing the stress and anxiety brought about by living conditions. The effect of biophilia, which is such an effective instinct for life, on the interior is inevitable. In this study, the concept of biophilia which started to take an active role in the interior space were analyzed by Browning's design parameters and based on the biophilic design features of Kellert and Çorakçı. "Plant" as a biophilic design element and in line with its potential to provide space organization by undertaking functional tasks in the interior, constitutes the main variable with its usage methods in this study. In line with the biophilic design analysis, in this study the visual design parameters defined by the use of plants in the interior has been determined are: shelter, curiosity/ mystery, hierarchy/ dominance/ focus, complexity, order, gathering/ meeting, border, orientation, security and decoration / accessory. The relationship of indoor plant use scenarios with the specified visual design parameters was examined and as a result of two different survey studies, it was aimed to develop a model for the designers on the plant use setup and the corresponding visual design parameter.
