Abstract
Description
An Example Practice on Supply Chain Management, Purchasing
Applications, Device and Material Logistics in the Health Sector: The Case of Siemens
Healthcare Sağlık A.Ş
ABSTRACT: It can be said that the technology developing in the health sector as in all sectors forces the increasing competition enterprises to be flawless. Within the scope of supply chain management, procurement practices and logistics concepts are among the issues that sectors must emphasize. In this study, supply chain management, procurement practices and logistics were evaluated with the example of Siemens Healthineers. The universe of this study is Siemens Healthineers employees and the sample is made up of 13 Siemens Healthineers employees selected for interviews. Interviews started in March 2020 and completed in June of the same year. In the study, a semi-structured interview form was created. In the research, interviews were held with 13 people. The number of valid questionnaires has been determined as 12. The data required in the study were obtained through face to face interviews. The people to be interviewed were reached with the improbable method. The data obtained from the interviews were evaluated using descriptive-interpretive analysis method. If the probabilistic (random) method had been used, the probability of reaching the participants with knowledge on the subject would be low. However, by using the improbable method, it has been possible to reach people working at Siemens Healthineers who have knowledge on the subject. As a result of the answers received from the participants and a literature review, the importance of the concepts of supply chain management, purchasing practices and logistics has been revealed. It is observed that companies that apply scientific approaches in management processes have high competitiveness, customer and employee satisfaction, and supply chain management is effective on all processes.
