Abstract
Bu tez çalışmasında esnek üretim sistemlerinin özellikleri ve diğer üretim
sistemleri içindeki yeri incelenmiştir. Esnek üretim sistemlerinin Nuh’un Ankara
Makarnası A.Ş. ile Antgıda A.Ş.’ de nasıl uygulandığı ve işletmelere sağladığı
ekonomik, teknik, ticari katkıları ve verimliliğe olan etkisi değerlendirilmiştir.
İncelemede yapılandırılmış görüşme ve anket çalışmaları yapılmıştır.
Görüşmeler yapılandırılmış şekilde işletmelerin üretim müdürleri ile yapılmıştır.
Anket çalışmaları işletmelerin üretimle ilgili olan üst yöneticileri ve işgörenleri ile
yapılmıştır. Ayrıca işletmelerin üretim, satış ve ihracat raporları incelenmiştir. Alan
araştırması için seçilen işletmeler esnek üretim sistemleri üzerinde az çalışılmış olan
gıda sektöründen seçilmiş ve örneklem seçimi araştırma kolaylığı sağlayan büyük
işletmelerle yürütülmüştür.
Esnek üretim sistemi uygulamalarıyla, incelenen işletmelerde teknoloji ve
bilgisayar kullanım düzeyleri en üst seviyelere çıkmış, üründe çeşitliliğin
sağlanmasında, üretim verimliliklerinin artmasında, müşteri odaklı üretimde, enerji
tasarruflarında, rekabet gücünün artmasında, pazar payının yükselmesinde, maliyet
avantajlarında ve diğer faktörlerde olumlu etkileri olmuştur. Araştırma yapılan
işletmelerde yeni teknolojilerin kullanılması ile işgören sayısı toplamda azalmış ve
uzman işgören sayısı artmıştır. İşletmelerin uygulamada yatırım maliyetlerinin
yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Esnek üretim sistemlerinin rekabette avantaj elde etmek,
müşterilerinin isteklerine hızlı cevap vermek, üretimde verimlilik elde etmek,
devamlılıklarını sağlamak ve uluslar arası pazarlarda yer almak isteyen işletmeler
için büyük önem taşıdığı sonucuna varılmıştır.

ABSTRACT: In this thesis, the features of flexible production systems and their places
among other production systems are investigated. How the flexible production
systems are applied in Nuh’un Ankara Makarnası Corp. and Antgıda Corp., and its
economic, technical and commercial contributions for the firms and its effects on
efficiency are evaluated.
Structured interviews and surveys are conducted during the research. The
structured interviews are conducted with the production managers of the firms.
Surveys are conducted with the high level managers and line workers who are
involved in the production processes. Besides, production, sales and export reports of
the firms are studied. The cases for the field research are chosen from the food sector
which is understudied in the literature and the big companies are selected due to the
conveniences in access.
With the application of flexible productions systems in the selected firms, the
utilization of technology and computerization reaches to highest levels. The flexible
production systems lead to positive effects in product line variation, efficiency in
production, customer oriented production, energy saving, competitiveness, market
share, production costs and other factors. With the application of new technologies in
the studied firms, the aggregate level of employment decreased while the number of
professional workers increased. It is found that investment costs of the firms are
high. It is concluded that flexible productions systems are at crucial importance for
the firms in gaining competitive advantage, for rapid response to customer needs,
reaching higher production efficiency levels, and providing sustainability of the firms
and their place in the international markets.
