Abstract
Perakendecilik sektörü dünyada ve ülkemizde en hızlı dönüşüm geçiren
sektörlerden birisidir. Ülkemizde özellikle son yıllarda indirim mağaza zincirlerinin
sayısının arttığını ve makroekonomik koşullar ne olursa olsun agresif bir şekilde
büyüdükleri gözlemlenmektedir. Tedarik zinciri yönetimi, ürünlerin üreticiden
tüketiciye ulaştırılması sırasında gerçekleştirilen pek çok işlemin etkin bir şekilde
sağlanması olarak tanımlanabilir. Ülkenin dört bir yanında bulunan binlerce mağazada
pek çok farklı kategoride bulunan ürünlerin aynı kalitede uygun fiyata sunulmasını
hedefleyen indirim mağaza zincirlerinin tedarik zinciri operasyonları karlılıklarını
büyük ölçüde etkilemektedir. Böylesine büyük bir operasyonun sürekli ve olabilecek
en düşük hata ile sürdürülmesi, rekabet ortamının zorlu olduğu indirim mağaza
konseptinde büyük önem taşımaktadır. İndirim mağaza zincirlerinin yüzlerce farklı
tedarikçi ile çalışması firma ile tedarikçiler arasındaki uyumun ve sağlıklı iletişimin
önemini artırmaktadır. Bu nedenle, mevcut kaynakları kullanarak tedarik zinciri
yönetiminin etkin bir şekilde sürdürülmesini sağlayacak bir organizasyon
oluşturulması gerekmektedir. Tedarik zinciri yönetiminin etkin ve verimli bir şekilde
sürdürülmesi sonucunda indirim mağaza zincirlerinin rekabet ortamında avantajlı bir
konuma gelerek karlılıklarını artırmaları beklenebilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, ülkemizde
perakendecilik sektörü içerisinde önemli bir paya sahip olan indirim mağaza
zincirlerinden örnek olarak seçilen iki firmanın tedarik zinciri operasyonlarını
inceleyerek tedarik zinciri yönetiminin önemini ortaya koymaktır. Bu doğrultuda,
çalışmanın ilk bölümünde perakendecilik hakkında kavramsal çerçeve, ikinci
bölümünde tedarik zinciri hakkında kavramsal çerçeve sunulmuştur. Araştırmanın son
bölümünde araştırmacı tarafından derlenen bilgiler ile ülkemizde faaliyet gösteren iki
indirim mağazasının tedarik zinciri yönetimini aktarılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuç
bölümünde iki firmanın tedarik zinciri yönetimi açısından ortak noktaları ve
farklılıkları sunularak tedarik zinciri yönetiminin önemi ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır.

The Importance of Supply Chain Management in The Retail
Sector: A Research in a Discount Store Chain
ABSTRACT: The retailing sector is one of the fastest transforming sectors in the world and also in our country. It is observed that the number of discount store chains has increased in our country especially in recent years and they have grown aggressively regardless of macroeconomic conditions. Supply chain management can be defined as the efficient provision of many transactions that are carried out during the transportation of products from the manufacturer to the consumer. The supply chain operations of the discount store chain that aim to offer products of many different categories at the same quality at an affordable price in thousands of stores across the country greatly affect their profitability. Maintaining such a large operation continuously and with the lowest possible error is of great importance in the discount store concept where the competitive environment is challenging. The fact that discount store chains work with hundreds of different suppliers increases the importance of harmony and healthy communication between the company and suppliers. Therefore, it is necessary to create an organization that will ensure the effective maintenance of supply chain management by using available resources. As a result of efficient and efficient supply chain management, discount store chains can be expected to increase their profitability by gaining an advantageous position in a competitive environment. The aim of this study is to reveal the importance of supply chain management by examining the supply chain operations of two companies selected as an example from discount store chains that have an important share in the retailing sector in our country. In this direction, the conceptual framework about retailing is presented in the first part of the study, and the conceptual framework about the supply chain in the second part. In the last part of the research, the supply chain management of two discount stores operating in our country was conveyed with the information compiled by the researcher. In the conclusion part of the research, the common points and differences of the two companies in terms of supply chain management are presented and the importance of supply chain management is tried to be revealed.
